Whitmer Thomas – “Terminal Crew Of Dudes”

"Well, how lucky can one guy be? I found some pals as dumb as me." That's the dream! It's also the opening line from the new Whitmer Thomas song "Terminal Crew Of Dudes." Alabama native Thomas is probably better-known as an actor and a comedian than as a musician. Last year, for instance, he was the hypnotized dad in Weapons. But Thomas also makes a lot of music. Jay Som produced his EP Tilt last year, and his song "Candy Corn" came out earlier this summer. This Friday, he'll drop a new HBO comedy special that's also called Terminal Crew Of Dudes, and the song comes from that.Thomas recorded "Terminal Of Friends" with a crew of longtime friends and collaborators, including Clay Tatum, Budd Diaz, Jeremy Ritchie, and his brother Johnny McCann. It looks like the special is heavy on music. In the trailer, those guys all seem to be sitting up there with Thomas while he's doing his comedy. As for the song, it's a laid-back ode to friendship: "I don't wanna go through them white sand dunes without my terminal crew of dudes." I like it!
