Will Smith helped announce the 2025 opening of [UNVRS] with a viral video made to look like a UFO sighting.
In 2025, Ibiza will be the home of a new venue whose founders are touting it as “the world’s first hyperclub.” Entrepreneur Yann Pissenem is opening an establishment called [UNVRS] in the space formerly occupied by Privilege Ibiza.
To announce the new venture, Pissenem enlisted actor and musician Will Smith to help create a viral video moment. It depicts Smith trying to track down a UFO that appeared over the White Isle, and which generated real-life headlines. He contacts Pissenem, who provides him with coordinates to his location — the rooftop of what will be [UNVRS] — to reveal that the UFO was a drone he had piloted the entire time.
“This campaign has been truly out of this world,” said Pissenem, according to a press release. “Revealing the name with a viral sensation is just the beginning. Seeing so many media outlets, celebrities, and influencers engage with the story has been incredible and having the possibility to reveal the brand with such an iconic actor like Will Smith was a dream come true. Now that the truth is out there, we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our new universe in 2025 as we launch the world’s first Hyperclub.“
The press release doesn’t distinguish what, exactly, will set [UNVRS] apart as a hyperclub. It simply states that the new establishment “will combine the high-end service, luxury and attention to detail of a nightclub with the infrastructure, scale and ambition of arena events” in ways not yet explored.
