Yo La Tengo recently announced this year's run of their annual Hannukah shows, slated for Dec. 4 to 11 at NYC's Bowery Ballroom. The pre-sale went down last week, and it was ruined by — you guessed it — scalpers! The band has since announced that they're voiding those tickets and launching a new lottery.The shows include special guests and surprises, and the money always goes toward charities, which makes this scalping situation even bleaker. On Instagram, the venue shared a statement:We are aware that many tickets for the Yo La Tengo Hanukkah shows did not end up in the hands of fans, and we are actively working to recover as many tickets as possible for redistribution. We realize this is especially disappointing in that these are benefit shows and it is extremely important to the band and to Bowery Ballroom that everything runs smoothly for all involved, especially their fans. We strongly advise against buying from resale sites.Yo La Tengo posted an update today, saying the scalpers and bots' tickets have been nulled and a new lottery will weed them out of the next sale.
