Alanis Morissette has sued her ex-tour manager, accusing the person of blackmailing her with threats of trumping up drug trafficking charges unless the singer-songwriter signed a 15-year contract. In a lawsuit filed in a California federal court Tuesday, Morissette lobbed claims of extortion, fraud, and negligent misrepresentation against her 2025 European tour manager Keren Urinov, calling her “a disgruntled former tour manager.” Get Alanis Morissette Tickets Here “Morissette brings this lawsuit reluctantly,” the complaint said. “But Morissette will not agree to work with an incompetent blackmailer for the next fifteen years or pay her a ransom under the gun.” The lawsuit alleges that British airport authorities arrested Urinov in 2025 as Morissette and crew were flying from the U.K. to Spain for a concert. After reconnecting, Urinov told Morissette that the British authorities flagged a bag that contained marijuana, which she carried with an Israeli medical permit, and xylazine, an animal tranquilizer that’s illicitly used, according to the complaint.
