Robin Kaye, a longtime music supervisor on American Idol, and her husband Thomas Deluca, were found shot dead in their Encino, California home on Monday. Both were 70 years old.

The bodies of Kaye and Deluca were discovered after LAPD officers were called to make a welfare check at the San Fernando Valley home.

A 22-year-old man, Raymond Boodarian of Encino, has been arrested and charged with double murder. Per The Los Angeles Times, police believe the couple was killed on July 10th after walking in on Boodarian as he was burglarizing their home. A “violent struggle” ensued, and the homeowners were “ruthlessly shot multiple times.”

“We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing,” an American Idol spokesperson said in a statement. “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

In addition to American Idol, Kaye had worked on the NAACP Awards, Lip Sync Battle, and other shows. She’d also served as vice president of the Guild of Music Supervisors.
