Amyl and the Sniffers announce upcoming country covers film

The band took to social media to share the news of the upcoming project, with a graphic that simply reads: "A FILM IS COMING TO YOU SOON ABOUT AMYL PLAYING COUNTRY COVERS OF THEIR OWN SONGS".

The punk stalwarts have previously dabbled in country music, teaming up with Viagra Boys for a cover of John Prine's "In Spite Of Ourselves" from the Swedish post-punk band's 2021 album, Welfare Jazz. The track features vocals from Amy Taylor, and she revealed that it was singer Sebastian Murphy that introduced her to Prine's work. "Seb's a country music fan, and so am I, so it was really sweet to do a little nice duet," she said, "and he actually introduced John Prine to me, now I'm a fan."
