Ana Roxanne to return with first solo album in six years, Poem 1

1 week ago 7

Poem 1 arrives after Roxanne's 2020 debut album, Because of a Flower, and sees her reintroduce herself as an artist in a significantly different phase of her life. "Keepsake" offers an introduction into this new era for Roxanne, capturing the feeling of her recounting her emotional wounds "alone in an abandoned bar".

On Poem 1, Roxanne strips things back, with limited instrumentation, placing the focus on her singer-songwriter skills with a vulnerability that she tapped into in the years of reflection that followed Because of a Flower. Speaking about the album in an Instagram announcement, she shares: "I can’t believe the time has finally come to share this with you, after years of working, ruminating and somehow pushing through to the end. More very soon!"
