Two comedians who both happen to have been named New Faces at Just for Laughs meet for the very first time on Long Time No See: The Podcast. Listen to Andrea Jin (Digman!, Juno Award winner for Grandma’s Girl) and Michael Lenoci (Village Idiots podcast) get to know each other above or wherever you get your podcasts, or check out the full video below.
After making some intros and feeling each other out, the pair chat about personality quirks, useless talents (Lenoci is really good at making you think someone’s behind you), and the absurdity of crystal shops. They also share petty hills they’d die on, with Lenoci standing firm on eating rice with a spoon, and Jin advocating for dogs in supermarkets and restaurants. “I love kids, but they are dirty as well,” she argues. “I’ve never met a kid with clean hands.”
They also joke about dream comedy bills, and groan about their biggest bombs. Lenoci recalls a particularly hard night in Dublin, Ireland where jokes about God and abortions didn’t go over with the conservative Catholic crowd. But his biggest mistake was cracking wise about their Guinness: “I was walking around Dublin and it was like a Simpsons episode: everybody’s drinking Guinness… I go, ‘Is this a bit? That would be like going to America and they’re all drinking Bud Light. Guys, you know there are other beers, relax.’ And they were like, ‘No, fuck you.'”
