Arch Echo is here to make you all feel bad about how well you can play your instruments, thanks to their new EP Catalyst. The EP is available here on Bandcamp and is the first of three installments that will eventually comprise one full-length album – hence the whole 3X3 bit.
"Catalyst is the first release in the 3X3 series, a collection of three EPs, each featuring three tracks," wrote Arch Echo. "This opening chapter captures a burst of renewed energy, written during the band’s first full in-person writing session in nearly seven years, held in Nashville in late 2024. Combining rhythmic precision, cinematic textures, and unapologetic attitude, Catalyst kicks off the 3X3 series with intensity and forward motion."
Arch Echo is a Nashville-based progressive metal and instrumental fusion powerhouse formed in 2016. Led by a collective of five virtuosic musicians — keyboardist Joey Izzo, guitarists Adam Rafowitz and Adam Bentley, bassist Joe Calderone, and drummer Richie Martinez – Arch Echo quickly earned attention with their self-titled debut in 2017, showcasing a dynamic blend of technical riffs, intricate rhythms, and melodic hooks.
Their follow-up album You Won’t Believe What Happens Next! and third LP Final Pitch further solidified Arch Echo's place in the instrumental prog world. Notably, Final Pitch featured standout collaborations with Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Anthony Vincent, and Adrián Terrazas-González.
