It’s been an absolutely massive year for K-pop group ATEEZ. After becoming the first Korean boy group to perform at Coachella, the band took on their largest US tour to date, featuring a North American stadium debut in Los Angeles. Now, the eight-member act has another major accolade to add to their breakout 2024 with their second No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart for their November release, GOLDEN HOUR: Pt.2.

ATEEZ claiming the top slot means the first Linkin Park release in seven years, From Zero, entered the chart at No. 2, the highest album debut for a rock group this year. However, the band’s first LP with new vocalist Emily Armstrong did see a healthy No. 1 debut in 10 other countries: Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Australia New Zealand, and the UK.

The first ATEEZ album to land atop the Billboard 200 was their 2023 project, THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL. With their second chart-topper, ATEEZ have become just the third K-pop act to lock in multiple No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, joining Stray Kids (who have earned this debut five times) and BTS (with six to their name).

According to Luminate, which tackles the analytics for the Billboard charts, ATEEZ moved 184,000 equivalent album units in the US for the week ending November 21st, with 179,000 being physical copies sold. It also marks the band’s largest debut. Linkin Park arrived on the chart with 97,000 equivalent album units earned, with 72,000 marked as album sales.

ATEEZ aren’t the only Korean representation on the chart this week; Jin of BTS enters at No. 3 with his debut solo project, Happy, while ENHYPEN’s ROMANCE: UNTOLD re-enters the list at No. 7 with their new reissue, ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-. Additionally, Puerto Rican singer and rapper Rauw Alejandro has achieved his first Top 10 LP with the arrival of Cosa Nuestra at No. 6.

While ATEEZ are gearing up for the European leg of their tour (see tickets here), Linkin Park are prepping for their first major North American tour in 10 years. Score tickets here.
