AVERSIONS CROWN Returns With New EP, A Voice From The Outer Dark

Australian deathcore unit Aversions Crown has emerged from the depths of the metal underground with A Voice From The Outer Dark, their first new material in several years. Out now via Nuclear Blast Records, the three-track EP is a crushing statement of renewed intent, brutal evolution, and uncompromising annihilation — marking the dawn of a new chapter for the deathcore juggernauts.

The band has also unleashed the official music video for the EP's standout track, “Castigation Choir”, a ferocious slab of rhythmically punishing, apocalyptic deathcore that paints visions of divine wrath, scorched earth, and the complete collapse of humanity. Directed by Colin Jeffs, the video matches the track's sheer intensity with visuals of end-time devastation.

"'Castigation Choir' is Aversions Crown at our most savage. Rhythmically punishing and thematically apocalyptic. It sets the tone for A Voice From The Outer Dark, we've pushed ourselves deeper into the bleak and the brutal, and this EP is just the beginning," said Aversions Crown guitarist Chris Cougan.

A major shift in Aversions Crown's lineup comes with the arrival of new vocalist Alex Teyen (ex-Black Tongue), whose guttural delivery and commanding presence inject fresh ferocity into the group's sound. This change signals a bold evolution for Aversions Crown as they lean further into bleak, cinematic heaviness. Get A Voice From The Outer Dark here.

The EP was recorded in October 2024 and produced by Lance Prenc and Edward Sklavos. Prenc handled mixing and mastering duties, while Sklavos took charge of engineering. The cover art — a suitably otherworldly and apocalyptic piece — was created by renowned artist Róbert A. Borbás (aka Grindesign).

Formed in 2010, Aversions Crown quickly made their name in the international extreme metal scene with technically punishing riffs, atmospheric layering, and an obsession with cosmic and apocalyptic themes. Albums like Tyrant in 2011, Hell Will Come For Us All in 2020, and Xenocide in 2017 cemented their reputation as leaders in modern deathcore.
