Mark Hoppus of blink-182 is bringing his brand of pop-punk to a new generation by writing and performing the theme song to the new Disney Jr. show, Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends. Stream it below.
The cartoon, which is the first animated Iron Man preschool series, imagines Tony Stark as a kid going on adventures with friends Riri Williams (aka Iron Heart) and Amadeus Cho (aka Iron Hulk) as they work together to solve problems and protect their city.
The track finds Hoppus espousing the joys of friendship between the young superheroes with an upbeat chorus: “It’s totally awesome when I’m with my best friends/ It’s better than chocolate, it’s better than weekends.”
Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends premieres August 11th on Disney Jr. at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT. The first 10 episodes will hit Disney+ and Disney Jr. on Demand the next day.
