The line-up for the second season of Last One Laughing UK has been announced, with Bob Mortimer set to defend his crown.

The Amazon Prime Video show sees a group of 10 comedians being challenged to make each other laugh over the course of several hours while confined to one room, until all but the eventual winner are eliminated.

The first season, which aired in March this year and ran for six episodes, proved to be a breakout success, with Mortimer being crowned the winner after finally knocking out Richard Ayoade.

It was confirmed in May that the show would return for a second season, with Jimmy Carr to remain as the show’s host and Roisin Conaty to be his sidekick as they watch on at the antics from a second room.

The other contestants next time around will be David Mitchell, Romesh Ranganathan, Alan Carr, Diane Morgan, Sam Campbell, Maisie Adam, Mel Giedroyc, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Amy Gledhill.

Season two will air in 2026, although no exact release date has been announced.

When the second season was announced, Jimmy Carr said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Last One Laughing is coming back for a second series. I think what’s happened is someone high up at Amazon has clicked ‘subscribe & save’ on Prime Video and, hey presto, we’re back in business.”

“I’m so pleased people had as much fun watching the first season as we had making it. Can’t wait to bask in the reflected glory of the next 10 comedy legends taking on the challenge.”

Aside from Ayoade, Mortimer also defeated Sara Pascoe, Joe Wilkinson, Rob Beckett, Joe Lycett, Harriet Kemsley, Judi Love, Daisy May Cooper and Lou Sanders.

Last One Laughing is produced by Banijay UK labels Zeppotron and Initial. The original format, Japan’s Documental, has been adapted in more than 20 countries.

These have included Ireland, hosted by Graham Norton, Australia hosted by Rebel Wilson and South Africa hosted by Trevor Noah.
