Body in D4vd’s Tesla reportedly identified as teen as sources say his car was spotted in neighbourhood last May

Authorities in California have reportedly identified the teenager who was found dead in an impounded car registered to D4vd, and sources have shared that the car was seen around the neighbourhood last May.

According to new reports, the person who was found dead in the Tesla has been identified as a teenage girl, who was between the age of 14 and 15. The suspected cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Law enforcement officials told Rolling Stone: “The decedent has been identified, but the legal next of kin notification is still pending. Information cannot be released until after the notification occurs.”

The body was found on September 8 after police were called out about a horrible stench coming from a car parked at a tow yard in Los Angeles. According to the police, the car had been there for a couple of days and the body was inside a bag in the front boot.

The Tesla is registered in Hempstead, a city near Houston in Texas, to D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke.

A Los Angeles County Medical Examiner report shared that the victim had wavy black hair and a tattoo on her right index finger that read, “Shhh…” (via RS). It also added that the body was “severely decomposed”, and had been inside the car “for an extended period of time before being found”.

It has also been reported by Rolling Stone that sources in the neighbourhood where the Tesla was parked that the car was seen in various places over the past few months. It was reportedly left in its final spot on Bluebird Avenue for about three weeks, and before then was parked a few blocks away as far back as May.

After the body was found, it was revealed that Burke had been informed of the investigation was was “cooperating” with authorities. NME has reached out to representatives for Burke for comment.

The singer is currently on tour to celebrate his ‘Withered’ album, which came out in April. The tour will bring him to Los Angeles on September 20, and afterwards, he’ll come to Europe in October for a run of shows including four in the UK.
