We Are Together Again arrives as a follow-up to Bonnie "Prince" Billy's — the persona of musician Will Oldham — The Purple Bird, released in January 2025. It's the latest addition to Oldham's extensive catalogue of roughly 30 studio albums.
Oldham recorded the songs at End of an Ear Studios in Louisville with his current tour mates Jacob Duncan (flute and saxophone), Thomas Deakin (clarinet, whistle, baritone electric guitar, accordion, cornet), Ryder McNair, Chris Bush, Ned Oldham and Erin Hill.
Speaking of the new record, Oldham explains: "This record was made closer to the Ohio River than any I’ve been involved with since 1993’s Palace Brothers There Is No-One What Will Take Care of You. Louisville’s current-and-past vital musical community is highlighted on every song. Catherine Irwin, who sang on the BPB release Ease Down the Road, is back here on “Hey Little” and “Vietnam Sunshine”. Lacey Guthrie, Tory Fisher and Katie Peabody, the three front women of the band Duchess, sing together on the opening and closing songs, parallel odes to the beast that is fear.“
The album announcement arrives with lead single "They Keep Trying To Find You", as well as the news of Bonnie "Prince" Billy performing an outstore at St Giles’ Church in Camberwell later this month. Watch the video for "They Keep Trying To Find You" below:
