Boris are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal albums PINK and Dronevil with vinyl reissues, out October 17th via Relapse Records.
PINK was a landmark album for Boris, introducing the Japanese metal trio to a wider audience after the LP received widespread critical praise upon release in late 2005. It will be available on vinyl for the first time in a decade and features the original CD tracklist spread across three sides — also a first — with an etching on Side D.
Additionally, Boris opened the vaults for a limited six-LP box set that includes the original album as well as three LPs of additional material: the expanded “Forbidden Tracks” from the Pink sessions, live material never before released on vinyl, and previously unreleased rough mixes.
The prelude to PINK was Dronevil, released a few months earlier in February of 2005. A far colder offering, the album saw the trio exploring darker shades of drone-metal ambience across four lengthy tracks. It will be available for the first time since its original release and in a new 2-LP format.
Boris have been steadily reissuing their back catalog over the past few years, and fans were anticipating reissues of PINK and Dronevil, especially after the band announced a Fall 2025 North American tour celebrating the former album.
The trek kicks off just a few days after the reissues drop, with a kickoff show on October 23rd in Solana Beach, California. The outing runs through mid-November, with tickets available here.
Pre-orders for the PINK and Dronevil reissues are available via Relapse. See the product mockups for the vinyl editions below.
