Bret Michaels Goes From Stage to Surgery

Bret Michaels has had a hell of a week, going from show to show and following one concert with a surgery. The Poison frontman performed three shows through “intense” pain from a kidney stone that he had been dealing with for a whole week, he said in a social media post on July 22nd. He got through sets in Charleston, West Virginia, Grantville, Pennsylvania and a private show at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, but after this last show the pain became unbearable. He was admitted to a hospital and had surgery to remove the kidney stone. Michaels went straight from the show to surgery, according to his post. “The operation has been done and is complete,” Michaels said. “I’m out of post-op recovery, and I’m doing everything within my power to feel better and continue playing great shows for great fans when I’ve got a complete clean bill of health.” Michaels gave his gratitude to the workers, doctors and nurses who took care of him, and said, “I am wise enough to know how important family, friends, fans, doctors and nurses play such a vital role in our everyday health.” Michaels has been doing solo shows all year, but had some high profile cancellations.
