Last week Brian Eno announced Together for Palestine, a benefit concert that will happen at London’s Wembley Arena on September 17. Today he’s announced the intial lineup which includes Damon Albarn, King Krule, James Blake, Jamie xx, Hot Chip, Bastille, Cat Burns, Adnan Joubran, Faraj Suleiman, Mabel, Obongjayar, Sampha, Paloma Faith, Rachel Chinouriri, and Greentea Peng, with appearances from Rina Sawayama, Riz Ahmed, Pinkpanthress, and more TBA.
Perhaps most exciting, as the poster for the benefit makes clear, Brian Eno himself will be one of the performers. He’s only played a handful of shows in his 50 year solo career, and with all this talent at the concert, let’s hope for something special.
Tickets are on sale and Eno says: “This is about more than just money. It’s about sending a message of love and solidarity to the people of Palestine — that they haven’t been forgotten. We see them, we hear them, and though we may be far away, we’re deeply connected — as we are to all humanity. Please join us on 17th September. Together, for Palestine.”
Also from the site:“Every penny donated will go to Palestinian humanitarian organisations saving lives under fire. All funds will go through Choose Love, a UK-registered charity who support local partners in conflict zones.”
