Brutalismus 3000 Show Genre-Blending Innovation on New Album, ‘Harmony’

Brutalismus 3000’s innovative approach to techno is further highlighted by collaborative co-signs from the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy, Boyz Noize, and Underworld.

The two brilliant minds behind Brutalismus 3000, producer Theo Zeitner and singer Victoria Vassiliki Daldas, have been at the bleeding edge of their respective lane since first launching the project in 2020. Six years later, they’ve pushed their innovative take on techno one step further on their second album, Harmony.

In the months leading up to the release of Harmony, Brutalismus 3000 have shared some of their most exciting and eclectic work to date. They kicked off 2026 with their monstrous ISOxo collaboration, “Spiral,” followed by their raucous collaboration with Boyz Noize, “I Bring My Gun To The Function.” Just three weeks ago, they unveiled their final album single, “Gore Louvre.” Today, after months of teasers, the hotly anticipated full body of work has hit streaming services.

Arriving by way of Columbia Records, Harmony features a refreshing take on Brutalismus 3000’s trademark sound. It’s a multi-genre blend of creativity and innovation, taking core electronic genres like techno, dubstep, and trap and blending them with punk and nu-metal. Categorizing the album simply as techno would do it no justice, as the two have cleverly crafted something that transcends the genre itself. It captures the essence of their home city’s celebrated genre and reshapes it into something refreshing while still keeping it club-friendly at the core. The album features three noteworthy collaborations, as the Berlin pair show off their co-signs from across the entertainment industry.

In addition to their work with Boyz Noize, the duo tapped Anya Taylor-Joy for “Morning Is For The Happy.” After connecting with the actress at a festival in Budapest, the pair forged a bond that eventually led to one of their most eclectic collaborations to date. Anya foregoes the singing some might expect of her on the track, a la her vocal work in Last Night in Soho, instead lending a spoken word interlude in the form of a poem originally written by Zeitner. Taking down the energy that was built through buzzing anthems like “No Friends In The Company” and “A Milli,” the song gives listeners a moment of reprieve as she reminisces about racing thoughts during a hungover cab ride.

On the final collaboration, Brutalismus 3000 enlist British legends Underworld for “Friends At The Pigshed.” Named after the latter act’s Pigshed studio, the track masterfully weaves through two distinct halves featuring vocal performances from both Daldas and Underworld’s Karl Hyde. The first half is a nod to techno purists, as Hyde’s vocals lead listeners through a pulsating drop where the two vocal tracks eventually collide. The halfway point signals a shift in tone as the music fades momentarily. The brooding techno elements then take an uplifting turn, shifting the focus to Daldas’ upper register, powered by floaty kicks and synths.

While their collaborative works are both noteworthy and impressive, Brutalismus 3000 shine just as bright on their own. “Mother Bug” is one of those examples, as the fourth track on the album steps away from the industrial feel of the first three songs and welcomes a slower tempo while delving into an electro-inspired drop.

Testo Skin” parts one and two similarly highlight the ingenuity the pair bring to every song. Painting a sonic story from one track to the next, part one maintains the breakneck pace heard throughout the majority of the album, as they fill the airwaves with reversed vocals atop another pounding beat. Part two flips part one on its head, slowing things down into a dubstep-inspired concept utilizing the same ethereal vocals for which Daldas is known.

The release of Harmony sees Brutalismus 3000 at their career best thus far. It’s a masterful showcase of talent that deserves more than one listen from start to finish. It’s an LP filled with dancefloor weapons ready to shake the nearest warehouse to its core.

The sheer density of the soundscapes crafted by Zeitner and Daldas invites fans to find something new every time they cue up Harmony. In their six-year run, this is just their second album, and the Berlin duo are just getting started.
