Francis Mercier took to social media to announce his debut album, Lakay (Home). Lakay means “home” in Haitian Creole, which is fitting for the project. The body of work centers around his formative years in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, alongside influences from throughout his colorful career. The prominent label boss plans to self-release the 20-track album on July 14 as he transitions Soléy from an event series to a full-blown imprint.

Along with the announcement of his first LP, Mercier released the next single from his debut record. “Champagne” with MASSALA and LexBlaze arrives as the fifth known track from Lakay (Home), accompanied by the album’s artwork.

London-based rapper and vocalist LexBlaze and North African producer MASSALA help breathe life into the vibrant song. Poised for the dancefloor at Francis Mercier’s live shows, “Champagne” delivers stunning North and South African textures that ignite feeling.
