Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek has announced a new album, The Mirror, out on February 27th via 4AD. He’s also shared a new song, “Gasoline.”
The Mirror serves as Buck Meek’s fourth studio album and was produced by James Krivchenia, his bandmate in Big Thief. The album also features contributions from Adrianne Lenker, Mary Lattimore, Jolie Holland, Germaine Dunes, Meek’s brother Dylan, and many more.
As a preview of The Mirror, Meek has shared “Gasoline,” a love song built on restless acoustic guitar strumming, impressionistic detail, and the question: “Will it be me or it will it be her to say I love you first?” Stream the new song below.
Meek will head to the UK and Europe for a run of shows in the spring in support of The Mirror, but his only US date is a show at Sid The Cat Auditorium in South Pasadena, California on March 12th. His last album was 2023’s Haunted Mountain.
