Carissa’s Wierd Announce Somewhere Further Than Far, Their First New Album in 25 Years

Influential indie rock band Carissa’s Wierd have announced their first new album in 25 years, Somewhere Further Than Far, out January 8th, 2027. Marking founding duo Mat Brooke and Jenn Champion’s first full-length since 2002’s Songs About Leaving, the album was inspired by a new generation of fans drawn to a handful of recent Carissa’s Wierd shows. Brooke and Champion went back to their roots during the winter months of 2026, sending each other songs recorded in their bedrooms before convening at Seattle’s The Hall of Justice Studio in May to spend five days recording the violin and drums, and mixing the album.
