Charli XCX's wonderful new album Music, Fashion, Film is still the talk of the town, but she also has a role in Gregg Araki's I Want Your Sex, which hit theaters Friday (July 31). To celebrate the release, the movie shared an exclusive clip with Pop Crave, and Charli's attempt at an American accent stole the spotlight.
Fans were not impressed with the pop star's attempt at an American accent in the previous teaser clip, but this one's a bit worse. Many are also pointing out that the visual setup resembles that of an SNL skit. Mostly, though, people are discussing Charli's accent, which, as they say, cannot be suppressed.
In other Charli news, she headlined Lollapalooza last night and sang the Wuthering Heights tracks "House" and "Dying For You" live for the first time. She also ended her set with the full David Cronenberg outro of "No One Lasts Forever," a part of the Music, Fashion, Film cut she omitted from its live debut at a Spotify popup in Nashville the other night. On Thursday, she also joined Lorde's set.
