Filming has begun in London on Charli XCX‘s upcoming new A24 film The Moment.

It comes as four more actors joined the project including Rish Shah who appeared in Ms. Marvel, Isaac Cole Powell, who starred in Armando Iannucci’s HBO series The Franchise, Kate Berlant who starred alongside Nicolas Cage in 2023 movie Dream Scenario and Stath Lets Flats star Jamie Demetriou, according to Film Updates.

They join previously announced stars Alexander Skarsgård (Succession), Rosanna Arquette and Trew Mullen (Blink Twice). Last month casting website Backstage also shared a post seeking actors for three supporting roles in The Moment.

The movie is based on the ‘Brat’ pop star’s own original idea, though details are currently being kept under wraps. Charli will star in the project and serve as a co-producer through her production company Studio365.

Her longtime collaborator A. G. Cook will provide the score. Scottish filmmaker Aidan Zamiri is also set to make his feature-length directorial debut with the film. A release date is not yet known.

Plot details are currently under wraps but Deadline previously described the film as a “mockumentary” that “follows the life of a pop star in the lead-up to her first headline arena tour. The Moment also gives an inside look at the inner workings of the music industry and explores how subculture is mutated by commercial success.”

Last December, it was announced that Charli XCX had been cast in The Gallerist alongside Jenna Ortega,Natalie Portman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sterling K. Brown, Zach Galifianakis, Daniel Brühl and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The singer now has numerous acting projects in the works, also including Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex and graphic novel adaptation 100 Nights Of Hero, which is led by Emma Corrin (Deadpool & Wolverine) and Maika Monroe (Longlegs).
