One of Cillian Murphy’s famous Peaky Blinders suits is up for auction, and could be yours for a four-figure sum.
The tailored three-piece suit Murphy wore in his role as protagonist Tommy Shelby during the final scenes of the show’s sixth season will be on offer at Omega Auctions’ Peaky Blinders Charity Auction event on May 20 from 6pm to 10pm, and it’s estimated to go for between £1,000 and £2,000. The auction will take place online and in person at the Peaky Blinders Bar in Manchester.
It also comes with a cue note written by Murphy on-set, a 10-page call sheet, and a shirt tailored by Williams & Gill of Manchester.
The event will help fund The Christie Charity, which supports cancer patients, treatment, and research at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester.
Aside from Murphy’s suit, there’s all manner of Peaky Blinders memorabilia to bid for. Among the various lots are a coat and a dress both worn by the late Helen McCory, who played Shelby’s aunt, Polly Gray, a hat worn by Oswald Mosley actor Sam Claflin, and pairs of shoes worn by characters including Shelby.
Peaky Blinders’ original run ended in 2022 with season six, but a movie, The Immortal Man, is on the way. Filming on the movie, which sees Murphy reprise his role alongside the likes of Rebecca Ferguson, Stephen Graham, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle and Barry Keoghan, wrapped in December.
There’s no release date yet, but the show’s creator Steven Knight said shortly after filming wrapped that it would come out in “about a year” and won’t be the end for the franchise.
In March, there was a limited crossover between the MMO game World Of Tanks and Peaky Blinders, which saw participants able to play as five members of the Shelby family, Tommy included.
Murphy’s career, meanwhile, has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Last year, he won Best Actor at the Oscars for his role as the titular character in Oppenheimer, while that same year, he starred in the historical drama Small Things Like These.
He also executive produced the post-apocalyptic horror 28 Years Later, which is out on June 20, as well as next year’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which was shot back-to-back with its predecessor. The movies serve as the third and fourth instalments in the 28 Days Later series respectively.
Murphy played Jim in the first movie, and Danny Boyle revealed that Jim will be making a return in The Bone Temple. Boyle, who served as a producer on The Bone Temple after directing the previous three movies, teased last month, “Like all good things in life, you may have to wait a little while for him to make his appearance.”
