Since the release of their latest album Let God Sort Em Out, Clipse has become the darlings of the Hip-Hop game, as the two rap OGs have seemingly breathed new life into a genre that’s lost it’s appreciation for lyricism and content in favor of simplicity and gimmicky rap.
Having been making the media rounds for the last few weeks, Pusha T and his big brother, Malice, took their talents to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed arguably their most heartfelt and tear-jerking song, “The Bird’s Don’t Sing” to show the crowd that while they’re notorious for their drug dealing metaphors and similes, Clipse also knows how to move a soul or two.
That “The way you missed mama, I guess I should’ve known/Chivalry ain’t dead, you ain’t let her go alone” line gets us every time. Damnit, Malice!!
Rapping about the tragic passing of their parents, Clipse walked around the stage to spit their bars as the backdrop displayed old school pictures of their parents, Mildred Thornton and Gene Elliott Thornton. It was quite the moving experience if you ask us.
