COASTLANDS Release New Single "Drugblood "From Forthcoming Self-Titled Album

Portland-based post-metal outfit Coastlands return with their searing new single "Drugblood", taken from their upcoming self-titled full-length, due October 10, 2025 on Translation Loss Records. If you need to blow your speaks right the fuck out this morning, this is the thing for you.

"Drugblood is a meditation on fractured faith, spiritual detachment, and the quiet violence of being misunderstood—by others, by God, by yourself, partners and bandmates. I grew up steeped in evangelical imagery, lambs, baptism, being 'born again' but at some point those metaphors started to feel hollow. This isn't a rejection of belief so much as a reckoning with it and finding connection to being fully present in your life."

The band further explains: "The repetition of 'save me from myself' isn't a cry for dramatic salvation—it's smaller, more human. It's the voice of someone standing in the ruins of promises they once held close, asking not to be left alone inside their own unraveling. The lyrics play with the language of spiritual rebirth, but reimagine it as a kind of emotional stillbirth, essentially the aftermath of what happens when you're told you're new, but you feel the same. The song wrestles with the disconnect between what we're told will save us and what actually does."

"Drugblood" offers a haunting look at Coastlands' forthcoming album – an uncompromising self-titled record that stands as both a culmination and reinvention of their sound. Pre-orders for Coastlands are available here.
