Courtney Love has announced that she has applied for British citizenship.

The former Hole singer revealed the news on March 4th during a conversation with Todd Almond at London’s Geographical Society, the same event that saw her perform a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone.”

“I’m really glad I’m here,” she said, as reported by the Daily Mail. “It’s so great to live here. I’m finally getting my British citizenship in six months. I get to be a citizen. I’m applying, man! Can’t get rid of me.”

Love has lived in London since 2019 and has previously cited the city’s lifestyle and privacy laws as main reasons for her residence. As for whether her British citizenship was politically motivated, Love didn’t explicitly admit as much, though she did criticize the Trump administration.

“In terms of Trump, and particularly this group… it’s like emperor-core,” she remarked. ” [They’re] wearing million-dollar watches… Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago. It’s frightening now. It’s like cyanide now.”

Love foreshadowed her relocation to London as far back as 2017, eventually moving to the capital of England from Los Angeles two years later.

“I know I’m going to end up there,” Love said at the time, as reported by the Daily Mail. “I know what neighborhood I’m going to end up in, and I know that I want to be on the Thames. I subscribe to this magazine called Country Life, which is just real-estate porn and fox hunting. It’s amazing.”

While Love’s political intentions weren’t as clear in her move to England, other celebs have left the United States as a direct result of Trump’s presidency. Among them is Rosie O’Donnell, who moved to Ireland following the most recent presidential election.

In terms of music, Love has shot down a Hole reunion, but is currently working on a new solo album with the likes of R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe and Echo & The Bunnymen’s Will Sergeant, among others.
