Magdalena Mclean is best known for playing in caroline, the critically acclaimed British post-rock collective whose latest record was our Album Of The Week. But she also performs in the art-punk group the Umlauts alongside Annabelle Mödlinger, and the two of them have their own project called Curbside Lambsear. They've been doing gigs for some time now, but their hypnotic debut single "Man The Door" is out today. It's a sprawling, six-minute meditation anchored to the ethereal uttering of the phrase, "With or without, I need you now," which progressively loses meaning through repetition, becoming an addictive sound floating through a dreamy atmosphere. The track also has caroline's Jasper Llewellyn and the Umlauts' Alfred Lear. Dive in below.
