"suffer" follows earlier previews of the upcoming album, “how the f*** does everybody else manage”, “no friend, no lover” featuring Keaton Henson, and “i don’t care”, as the latest taster of a collection of songs that explore identity, vulnerability, grief, and existential anxiety.
Discussing the new single, Kamal. says: “'suffer' is a song about finding yourself so deeply in love with someone that you’d do anything for them, even if it hurts to do so…”
how the fuck does everybody else manage? was executive produced by Jonny Coffer, and features themes of addiction, depression, violence, fractured relationships, and emotional dependency amidst political unrest and disorientation within modern life. Kamal. incorporates literature and philosophy in his storytelling, brought to life with "cinematic" instrumentals and contributions from artists including Dave and Natanya, in addition to Henson.
