Former Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra joined Cavalera (the band featuring ex-Sepultura members Max and Iggor Cavalera) a few nights ago for “Nazi Punks Fuck Off,” which Biafra introduced as “Nazi Trumps Fuck Off.”

Cavalera are currently touring the United States performing songs from early Sepultura albums (pick up tickets here). During their show on Monday (March 3rd) at the Marquis Theater in Denver, Max introduced surprise guest Biafra, who addressed the crowd before launching into the classic Dead Kennedys tune.

“A lot of you know this song,” said Biafra from the stage. “It was originally just written about people being really fucking violent in the pit and acting like a bunch of nazis. Then, when it got to places that had real dictators and real fascists, like Brazil [where the Cavalera brothers are from] and Eastern Europe, it became more. It became kind of a revolutionary cry. So, no mothballing the song, especially because, for the first time ever, we are staring a real live fascist dictatorships with red, white, and blue brown shirts all over this country.”

He continued, “It’s gonna take ’em awhile to get to me, but I’m enough on the shit list for what I’ve said about dirty Donny Trump and whatnot, you never know. So now, this song has a slightly different name I think we can all relate to: ‘Nazi Trumps Fuck Off!’”

Biafra and Cavalera then performed a rousing rendition of the fast-paced punk classic, which Dead Kennedys released as a single in 1981.
