Deftones Appear to Tease New Music

1 week ago 7

It’s been five years since Deftones released their most recent album, 2020’s Ohms, and now it appears that their highly anticipated follow-up is finally on the way. The band offered a cryptic tease at the London show on Sunday night (June 29th), suggesting that new music is imminent.

On a video screen at their show at Crystal Palace Park, the words “private music” appeared along with “X.VII.MMXXV distributed by deftones, all rights reserved.” The Roman numerals translate to 10.7.2025, and in the UK, where dates are listed day/month/year, that would be July 10th, 2025, which is less than two weeks away. Perhaps a new single, or an album announcement, or both are coming that day?

The London gig came a day after Deftones pulled out of their Glastonbury Festival set at the last minute due to an illness in the band. Fans can catch frontman Chino Moreno and company on their late-summer North American tour kicking off August 22nd in Vancouver, and running through a September 19th show in Atlanta (pick up tickets here).

Numerals are 10.7.2025. What do you reckon? 😮
