What To Make Of These Mortal Hands will be Dis Fig's first solo album since 2019's PURGE, and follows collaborations with The Bug, The Body and Asian Dope Boys. “The Account” opens with the voice of poet the wind between, as Chen explains of the song's arrangement: “I liked teasing it by opening with a voice that wasn't mine,” Chen explains. “I felt like I really needed someone to set the stage for what was about to unfold, like a Greek chorus or narrator.” At sixty-three minutes long, the album is a collection of different scenes defined by Chen's vocals, layered with distortion and electronics. It was written and recorded almost entirely by Chen, with contributions from collaborators including Lee Buford of The Body on recorded drums, Liam Andrews of BIG|BRAVE on bass, and a vocal feature from LUηG. “A throughline for me is trying to create a womb-like space through sound,” Chen says. “I wanted this record to feel like stepping into its own distinct world. It's meant to be a portal with a guide, taking your hand and inviting you in with care.” What To Make Of These Mortal Hands artwork What To Make Of These Mortal Hands tracklist “Arrival”“The Account” ft. the wind between“Psalte...
