Dolly Parton is set to receive an honorary Academy Award at 2025 Governors Awards, which will take place on Sunday, November 16th at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.

The 79-year-old country music legend, who also starred in several feature films including 9 to 5, Rhinestone, and Steel Magnolias, is being honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The award recognizes her decades-long humanitarian and philanthropic efforts through the Dollywood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

With the Oscar, Parton is now one step closer to achieving EGOT status. She already has 11 Grammys and an Emmy to her name, and with her life being the subject of an autobiographical musical opening on Broadway in 2026, there’s a good chance she’ll soon add a Tony to her trophy shelf as well.
