Dustin Wong's new record on Hausu Mountain pays tribute to his late grandmother

The record's deeply personal narrative arc channels specific memories and pieces of his family history. Gloria uses a road trip he and his grandmother took together down the west coast of America in 2023 as its direct inspiration and is a memorial to her storied life and a celebration of the warmth and kindness that characterised their close relationship.

The former guitarist with Ponytail, Wong's solo work continues to transmute personal life experiences as the source material for his music. Gloria will be his third record for legendary Chicago label Hausu Mountain following Fluid World Building 101 With Shaman Bambu in 2018 and Perpetual Morphosis from 2023.
