Eric Prydz and Boris Brejcha have announced that their first-ever b2b set will take place in front of the Royal Palace of Brussels.
Eric Prydz and Boris Brejcha are each house and techno superstars in their own right. Come August 15, they’re joining forces for a landmark back-to-back set — and to make the occasion all the more momentous, it’s set to be hosted in front of the Royal Palace of Brussels.
The world premiere b2b has been organized in partnership with Hangar, a Belgian event promoter whose stated mission is “Turning Cities Into Stages.” Previously, the outfit brought KI/KI to the Cinquantenaire tunnel complex, and it plans to host a performance by Stephan Bodzin and Sam Paganini at the historic railway station in Mons later this month.
Brejcha, a German DJ and producer, seldom plays back to back with other artists. Perhaps best known for his distinctive “high-tech minimal” sound, he grew internationally famous for his Cercle sets, which saw him perform in picturesque locations around France.
And while Prydz may have played a series of high-profile back-to-back sets alongside deadmau5 the better part of a decade ago, he has also historically been billed mainly as a solo act. But he didn’t start out that way. Longtime fans will note that Prydz began his career as the fourth member of Swedish House Mafia.
A number of structures have stood on the site of the Royal Palace of Brussels dating back to the 11th century, but construction began on its current form in 1815, while the city was still part of the Netherlands. It underwent various changes and additions in the subsequent generations, but outside of renovations, it hasn’t been significantly altered since its greenhouse was converted into the Flemish Hall in 1938.
Presale goes live on Monday, May 11 at 4pm CET. Sign up to receive updates on the Hangar website.
