Fallout season two starts filming this month and Macaulay Culkin has reportedly joined the cast.
The first season of Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout premiered earlier this year to critical acclaim. The show, which is based on the hit post-apocalyptic survival games, was nominated for 16 Emmys and a second season has already been confirmed.
Production is due to start later this month with Ella Purnell (Lucy), Walton Goggins (The Ghoul) and Aaron Moten (Maximus) all returning. According to a new report from Deadline, Macaulay Culkin is also joining the cast in a recurring role. Not much else has been shared about his character but it’s believed he’ll play a “a crazy genius-type character.”
Some fans believe that means Culkin will be playing Fantastic, a slimy, manipulative character introduced in Fallout: New Vegas. In the games, he blags his way into a position of power with the New California Republic, with his line “they asked me how well I knew theoretical physics, I said I had a theoretical degree in physics” a fan-favourite moment from the series.
Macaulay Culkin has been cast in Season 2 of the #Fallout TV series! Apparently he's playing a "crazy-genius-type-character"
So now the Vault becomes a death trap full of tool trolleys falling down the stairs, paint buckets on a rope, and high-voltage doorknobs? 🤣 pic.twitter.com/3pYr9bqsU4

Others think the “crazy genius” will be a take on Arcade Gannon. Also introduced in Fallout: New Vegas, the character is an unlikely member of humanitarian organisation Followers Of The Apocalypse.
“Missed opportunity if he’s not at the end of a crazy booby-trapped lair,” wrote one fan on reddit, with several others also hoping for a Home Alone-inspired crossover. “The Ghoul and Lucy & dogmeat are walking to New Vegas. Out of the distance they hear bullets whizzing by. All of a sudden they hear someone say ‘Keep the change you filthy animal’. Kevin has been home alone for hundreds of years,” offered another fan.

“Kevin wakes up in a vault that everyone has left and has to defend it himself from two incorrigible raiders who try to break in,” said one Fallout fan.” Two super mutants called the ‘glowing bandits’ keep following him around falling into his traps,” added another while a third said: “Whatever happens in S2, I’ll consider it a win for this casting.”
It’s been announced that the second season of Fallout will see the action head to what is left of Las Vegas, with showrunner Graham Wagner confirming that fan-favourite character Mr House will play a big part in the story.
In other news, despite the less-than-impressive reaction to the Borderlands film, the project actually boosted sales of the games that inspired it.
