Fan’s High-Flying Stage Dive Over Security Pit at Turnstile Show Is Insane: Watch

Turnstile shows tend to be participatory experiences when it comes to crowd surfing and stage diving, However, as the band plays bigger and bigger venues, the logistics of stage diving are getting a bit more complicated, as seen in audience footage of the band’s performance in Richmond, Virginia, back in September.

In the YouTube short below, the band is tearing through the set-closing NEVER ENOUGH tune “BIRDS” when a particularly bold stage diver attempts to leap from the stage, over the security/photo pit, and into the crowd. He almost makes it, but looks to slam pretty hard against the barrier before being pulled over by the crowd. At the same time, another fan falls hard over the rail as he attempts to rush the stage.

From there, the scene is pretty wild, with fans taking the stage and grabbing and shouting into mics as security scrambles to contain the situation. This is the same show where a sheriff’s deputy apparently pepper-sprayed a fan who was climbing onto the stage.
