The first teaser trailer for biblical horror film The Carpenter’s Son has been released online, with FKA Twigs playing the mother of Jesus Christ.

The upcoming French-American horror film stars Nicolas Cage as “The Carpenter”, aka Jesus’ father, in a horror-themed twist on the narrative of The Bible. Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) plays Jesus himself. The film is expected to be released sometime in 2025.

The official synopsis reads: “The Carpenter’s Son tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt. The son, known only as The Boy, is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, The Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension.

“As he exercises his own power, The Boy and his family become the target of horrors, natural and divine.”
