Days after Mexican officials suggested that Fyre Festival 2 is “an event that does not exist,” former football-star-turned-rapper Antonio Brown has revealed that he will allegedly be among the acts performing.
In a video published by TMZ Sports, Brown is seen telling the camera, “This is AB and I’ll be performing at Fyre Fest, part two, in Mexico on May 30th. Be there or be square. Make sure you put that shit on.”
So far, Brown is the first artist to be “confirmed” to play the festival, which was originally scheduled for April 2025, but was recently pushed back to May 30th through June 2nd.
In a recent interview, the director of tourism for Isla Mujeres (the Mexican island that is supposedly hosting the festival) said, “We have no knowledge of this event, nor contact with any person or company about it.” He continued to suggest that there are “red flags all over the place,” including the coordinates of the festival location on its website, which just lead to the ocean between Cancún and Isla Mujeres.
But organizer Billy McFarland — who organized the infamous original Fyre Festival in 2017 and subsequently was sentenced to prison for fraud — has assured festival-goers that “Fyre Festival 2 is real,” and will offer “boundary-pushing excursions by day” and “intimate beach-side performances at night.”
Beyond Brown, no information regarding the lineup is known at this time. TMZ reported, however, that “sources close to the operation” alleged that “multiple other acts in addition to Brown” have accepted deals to “sing at the event.” Additionally, “most of the talent has agreed to lead experiences for festival-goers away from the stage — including taking fans on whale shark excursions and leading MMA training sessions.” TMZ suggested that Brown would lead festival goers in “beach football activities.”
Brown famously retired from the NFL in 2022 after running off the field, shirtless, mid-game. Since then, he’s debuted as a rapper under the name AB, and released his debut album, Paradigm, in 2022, with executive production from his friend, Kanye West. To date, his most popular track is the Paradigm cut, “Put That Shit On.”
