Garden State Soundtrack Artists Reuniting for 20th Anniversary Benefit Concert

Cult classic Garden State, the directorial debut film from Zach Braff, marks its 20th anniversary this year. In celebration, a number of the artists from the beloved soundtrack — including The Shins, Iron & Wine, Frou Frou, Thievery Corporation, and Remy Zero — are staging an anniversary concert. The event is set for March 29th, 2025 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Reportedly, almost every artist from the soundtrack is set to appear, including Men at Work’s Colin Hay, Bonnie Somerville, Zero 7’s Sophie Barker, and “very special guests” yet to be announced. Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public via Ticketmaster on Friday, October 18th at 9:00 a.m. PST/12:00 p.m. ET. Proceeds from the event will support The Midnight Mission, a long-standing organization dedicated to assisting the unhoused populations of Los Angeles.

After Garden State premiered in 2004, the soundtrack earned Braff a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture. It’s remained a staple of film soundtracks in the decades since. The movie, which co-starred Braff and Natalie Portman, has also stayed in the cultural conversation thanks to its inclusion of one of the most prominent examples of the “manic pixie dream girl” trope in film.

While there hasn’t been any movement just yet, there was chatter in 2022 around a potential revival of Scrubs, which Braff starred in for eight seasons.

When Garden State hit its 10th anniversary, the soundtrack was released on vinyl for the first time; order a copy here. Plus, revisit our look into how the movie — and its soundtrack — changed Zach Braff’s career forever.
