Gene Simmons Band Announces Spring 2025 US Tour

KISS legend Gene Simmons has announced a brief run of Spring 2025 US tour dates with his eponymous band. The singer-bassist and company have booked five shows for late April and May.

So far, Simmons has announced shows in Tallahassee, FL (April 28th); Beaver Dam, KY (May 3rd); Red Bank, NJ (May 5th); Dallas (May 22nd); and Houston (May 24th). A Live Nation pre-sale for select dates using the code JOY is currently under way, while a general on-sale starts Friday at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

It was one year ago this week that KISS played their final show ever at Madison Square Garden. These days, if you wanna catch Simmons in concert, the only way to see him is with the Gene Simmons Band.

In addition to Simmons, the band features guitarists Brent Woods (Wildside, Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil) and Zach Throne (Corey Taylor), as well as drummer Brian Tichy (Billy Idol, The Dead Daisies, Whitesnake).

Simmons keeps playing shows despite continuously insisting that “rock is dead.” In a new interview with The Zak Kuhn Show (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer reiterated what he told Heavy Consequence three years ago.

“From 1958 until 1988 … we had Elvis [Presley], we had The Beatles, The Stones, Jimi Hendrix, all that, Pink Floyd, the solo artists, David Bowie and just music that lasts forever, we’d like to think,” Simmons told Kuhn. “And from 1988 until today, it’s something like almost 40 years, certainly 35 years. Who are the new Beatles?”

When Kuhn mentioned Nirvana, Simmons responded, “Stop. We are blinded. I’m a major fan. If you walked down the street and asked a 20-year-old, ‘Who’s the bass player in Nirvana?,’ they wouldn’t know what you’re talking about. Or, ‘Can you sing a Nirvana song?’ No, no.”

As for Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam? Simmons retorted, “Not on your life. Of course, I love Foo Fighters. I love those bands. [Pearl Jam’s] Mike McCready told me he was growing up with those KISS records. In fact, one of his solos … he took note for note from Ace Frehley. But that’s not my point. My point is if you randomly walk down the street and you ask the first young person you meet, a 20-year-old, and you say, ‘Name me anybody in Pearl Jam,’ good luck with that.”
