Girlpool's Avery Tucker collaborates with A. G. Cook, Katie Gavin and more on debut solo album, Paw

“‘Like I’m Young’ is probably one of the most emotionally raw songs I’ve ever written,” Tucker explains. “There are lines in the song I remember writing and thinking ‘I won’t keep this in.’ I decided to take this song to the edge of myself at the time, and whenever I play the song live I walk alongside that cliff within me and feel the height.”

The album features collaborations with co-producer Alaska Reid, producer A. G. Cook on "My Life Isn’t Leaving You", Katie Gavin of MUNA who features on "Angel", and Aaron Maine of Porches, who sings and produces on "Baby Broke". Alaska Reid, in particular, played a key role in helping Tucker remain instinctual and avoid self-censorship. “She encouraged me to not shy away from the rawness I had written. Instead of dressing the songs in production, she pushed me to serve the spirit of the songs,” he says.
