Southern California straight-edge hardcore bruisers God's Hate have announced they will be going on an indefinite hiatus, effective immediately after their July 13 set at the Sound and Fury Festival in Los Angeles. The news was confirmed via the band's official social media channels with a simple and ominous statement: "A MESSAGE FROM GOD'S HATE. GOD'S HATE HIATUS BEGINS TONIGHT AFTER SOUND & FURY. THE JOB IS FINISHED… FOR NOW."
While the band offered no further details, the decision comes at a time when frontman Brody King — who balances dual careers in music and professional wrestling — has an increasingly packed schedule as part of the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) roster. King was even in Arlington, TX the night before the band’s final performance, wrestling at AEW’s All In pay-per-view, nearly 1,400 miles away.
God's Hate first emerged in 2014 with their debut EP Divine Injustice, quickly making a name for themselves in the hardcore scene with a blend of punishing heaviness and unrelenting intensity. They followed up with Under the Knife in 2015 before dropping their first full-length, Mass Murder, in 2016. Their self-titled sophomore album, God's Hate in 2021, further solidified their place among modern hardcore’s most vital acts.
While it remains unclear when or if God's Hate will return, their statement leaves the door open. For now, the band steps away on their own terms — after leveling one final stage at Sound and Fury, and with a legacy built on fury, discipline, and unrelenting power.
