Good Charlotte have unleashed the new single “Rejects,” the pop-punk band’s first new song in five years. The song will appear on their upcoming album, Motel Du Cap, set for release on August 8th.
Last week, Good Charlotte announced Motel Du Cap, their first album in seven years, following up 2018’s Generation Rx. “Rejects” is the band’s first song since the stand-alone 2020 single “Last December.”

Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden co-wrote the new song with Jordan Fish (ex-Bring Me the Horizon) and Zakk Cervini, both of whom co-produced the track. It’s accompanied by a claymation video directed by Erik Rojas and Lenna Onto.
Regarding the choice to release “Rejects” as the first single, Joel Madden told Rolling Stone, “I don’t even think “Rejects” is necessarily the most obvious single type song, but it’s the one we feel like people should hear first. We think it’s a really great start and a representation of the record and the music.”
In celebration of the release of “Rejects,” Good Charlotte will perform the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight (June 25th). Fans can also catch the band performing at the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series in New York City on August 8th and at LIV Golf Chicago on August 9th.
