Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ is being compared to ‘Bloodborne’

Fans have been comparing Guillermo del Toro‘s forthcoming version of Frankenstein with the video game Bloodborne.

The first image was recently shared from his Netflix version of the classic horror story which shows the inside of Dr. Frankenstein’s lab. You can view it below.

The image immediately got fans talking on a Reddit thread who compared Dr. Frankenstein’s stance with the main character on the cover of the 2015 video game Bloodborne.

“Looks like del Toro’s Frankenstein is about to be as haunting as the world of Bloodborne,” one fan wrote.

“Wtf Bloodborne rip off,” another added.

Others also compared it with the more recent action role playing video game Lines Of P.

“Thought this was actually Lies of P for a second,” one fan wrote while another added: “I thought wait that stand looks familiar… Then I remember lies of p.”

Filming on Frankenstein, which stars Oscar Isaac in the titular role and Jacob Elordi as The Monster in del Toro’s new version of the 1818 Mary Shelley novel, began back in February.

The cast will also include include Mia Goth (Pearl) and Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained), as well as All Quiet On The Western Front’s Felix Kammerer.

It will be the Mexican director’s first feature film since 2022’s Pinocchio, and his thirteenth directorial feature overall. He won the Academy Award for Best Director for 2017’s The Shape Of Water, which also picked up Best Picture.

Del Toro, recently claimed he was disturbed by “angry and territorial” ghosts in an Aberdeen hotel room during filming of his version of Frankenstein in the city

He also recently had his say on the use of AI in art, claiming it can do “semi-compelling screensavers” and “that’s essentially that”.
