Paramore’s Hayley Williams has unveiled the music video for her recently released single “Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party,” directed by longtime collaborator Zachary Gray. Set in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, the video is a contemplative visual journey featuring Williams alongside state representative Justin Jones, blending city lights, introspection, and karaoke in one of her most intimate offerings to date. Per a press release, the video is meant to feature the good and the bad about her hometown of Nashville (a place she’s lived since middle school).” Watch the clip below.
Williams initially debuted her first new standalone track, “Mirtazapine,” during a session with Nashville’s WNXP as a show of support for public radio in the face of recent federal funding cuts. She followed that up last week by releasing a full collection of 17 solo singles, all produced by Daniel James and released under Williams’ new independent venture, Post Atlantic. Written and recorded with James, and joined by contributors Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard, and Jim E. Stack, the songs span genres and moods, from the Americana-laced “Whim” to the sardonic synth-pop of “Ice in My OJ.” The full collection is now available on all major DSPs.
In a recent Instagram Story, Williams’ clarified that the collection of singles is not meant to be considered an album, but will nonetheless be released physically, stating: “I think physical media, now more than ever is very important,” before asking fans to reach out for their perspective on how the new tracks should be ordered.
These 17 tracks mark Williams’ third solo chapter, following the acclaimed Petals for Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases (2021).
Meanwhile, Hayley’s band Paramore recently released their 20th anniversary edition of All We Know Is Falling, which includes The Summer Tic EP, marking the first time the EP is released digitally.
