Ho99o9 have announced a new album titled Tomorrow We Escape, set for release September 9th, and have unleashed the lead single “Upside Down.”
The multi-genre outfit (pronounced Horror) blends hip-hop, metal, punk, hardcore, and industrial into a unique sound, all on display in the song “Upside Down.”
Regarding the new album, vocalist theOGM stated, “When we started this process, we knew we wanted to make more relatable songs. It was a healthy challenge to focus on emotion.”
He added, “In the past, a lot of our material was politically charged. That element is present to a degree, but we wanted to take a more personal route. This mindset drove how we wrote songs. Everybody has a struggle. The goal is to find motivation for preservation.”
Per a press release, the video for the song “Upside Down” is “set in a world where the Chinese Yuan is world currency and water has become a black market commodity.”
Ho99o9 will perform at the Long Beach edition of the Vans Warped Tour taking place July 26th-27th, and will also join The Dillinger Escape Plan on an Australian tour in August.
