One of the less talked about features of Pokemon TCG Pocket is flair. These card effects and animations give your cards a glow-up at the cost of a fair chunk of resources.
Here is a breakdown of how you can obtain flair in-game, and some faster ways to earn it more consistently.
You can obtain flair in Pokemon TCG Pocket by getting Shinedust in the following ways:
- Purchasing it from the store when available
- Opening packs and promo packs
- Completing missions and event missions
- Purchasing it with Event Tokens from Wonder Pick events
The most common way to earn Shinedust is from packs. Every pack you open, including promo packs, will award a chunk of Shinedust, with the amount depending on the rarity of cards in the packs. Higher rarity cards, such as full art, rainbow full art, immersive, and golden cards, will award larger Shinedust amounts.
Additionally, sales can occasionally pop up with Shinedust available to purchase during them. You can also purchase Shinedust with Event Tokens during limited-time Wonder Pick events. There are a number of other rewards you can spend Event Tokens on during these events, but each one also has 20 Shinedust chunks to purchase with your extra tickets.
Finally, completing some missions and event missions during limited-time events, such as solo battle events, can award some Shinedust amounts. These aren’t always consistent and are often one-time unlocks, so you will only be able to grab them once.
Either way, the vast majority of your Shinedust for flair upgrades will be found from opening packs, especially if you have the Premium Pass, which gives you an extra pack opening every day.
