Hulk Hogan’s Cause of Death Questioned by Daughter, Leaked Police Report

New claims from Hulk Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, and a recent TMZ report suggest there could be more to his recent death than the initially reported heart attack.

In a lengthy statement posted to her Instagram Story (via PEOPLE) on Wednesday, August 20th, Brooke Hogan claimed that there is police body cam footage and 911 tapes that could shed more light on the circumstances of her father’s death.

“I’ve 100% gotten legit calls from professionals — from police officials to nurses that were supposedly with my dad on the day of his death telling ME I need to see body cam footage and I need to get a hold of the 911 tapes because they supposedly contain information that could potentially shed enough light to change the narrative,” she wrote, adding that these professionals “feel so passionately about what they witnessed, they have continued to contact me and push me to find specific answers to this very day.”

Brooke added that she has “zero control” over the situation because her father’s wife, Sky Daily, is setting the “rules.” She further noted that the footage and 911 calls were “not available” through the Freedom of Information Act.

At the time of Hogan’s death, Brooke was estranged from her father and had taken herself out of his will. Her brother, Nick, is keeping her informed and “doing his best to get answers.”

Adding credence to Brooke’s claims, TMZ published information from a Clearwater Police Department report on Thursday. It reveals that an occupational therapist who was at Hogan’s Florida home when he stopped breathing told officers that a surgeon had “severed” Hogan’s phrenic nerve during a recent operation.

The phrenic nerve is located in the neck and controls the diaphragm, making it vital for breathing. On the day of Hogan’s death on July 24th, first responders attempted to revive him for 30 minutes before he was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

While TMZ did not confirm whether this specific conversation was recorded, other discussions between officers about the therapist’s claim were caught on body cam. Brooke has called for an autopsy, but neither she nor TMZ has confirmation about whether Hogan’s body has already been cremated.

However, Sky Daily did confirm to TMZ that her late husband’s phrenic nerve was “compromised” during a recent surgery.

The Clearwater Police Department has also released a statement about their ongoing investigation into Hogan’s death: “We have been in communication with family members — including his son, Nick, and daughter, Brooke. The unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that. All of this takes time.”
